It takes about a second for the Robocoin AI to identify the coin and find its valuable features. Tens of neural networks process and identify the coins, so that you can focus only on those that are likely to have value.
Robocoin scanners take high resolution pictures of your coins, use AI to identify those that are worth more than their nominal value, and sort them out. It works great as a coin hunting tool, and to document and analyze your collection.
Robocoin uses a patent pending method to take high resolution pictures of your coins that emphasize the coin features and allow high quality automated recognition and valuation.
Third-party videos are a practical way to see Robocoin in real use before you join Early Access Program (round 3).

Justin Couch's review (about two years ago): Watch on YouTube
Justin's review is now a couple of years old. Since then we have improved a lot — Robocoin is stronger, more refined, more accurate, has more features, and can scan many more coins in a single batch. The core idea and functionality remain largely the same, so the video is still a helpful preview of what to expect.

Robocoin is designed to accurately scan and process various US circulation coin denominations from specific years. Below is a table summarizing the supported coins:
| Denomination | Year |
|---|---|
| 1 cent | 1909-2025 |
| 5 cents | 1913-2025 |
| 10 cents | 1916-2025 |
| 25 cents | 1916-2025 |
Robocoin is continually expanding its recognition capabilities to include various coin varieties and errors. Currently, it can identify the following specific features:
| Denomination | Year | Feature/Error Description |
|---|---|---|
| 1 cent | 1998, 1999, 2000 | Wide AM (letters 'A' and 'M' in 'AMERICA' are spaced apart) |
| 1 cent | 1960 | Small Date (smaller-sized date numerals) |
| 1 cent | 1970 | Small Date (smaller-sized date numerals) |
| 1 cent | 1982 | Small Date (smaller-sized date numerals) |
| 25 cents | 2008 | Alaska 'Extra Claw' (die chip giving the appearance of an extra claw on the bear) |
| 25 cents | 1999 | Delaware 'Spitting Horse' (die crack extending from the horse's mouth) |
| 25 cents | 2005 | Kansas 'In God We Rust' (grease-filled die causing the 'T' in 'TRUST' to be faint or missing) |
| 25 cents | 2005 | Kansas 'Humpback Bison' (die break causing a humpback appearance on the bison) |
| 25 cents | 2022 | Maya Angelou 'Drooling' (die chip below the mouth giving a drooling appearance) |
Detecting these features is genuinely difficult — many of them are tiny, subtle marks on the coin surface (die cracks, die chips, small date numerals, slight letter spacing differences) that are easy to miss even with the naked eye, and we are still actively working to improve recognition quality. Robocoin already recognizes the varieties listed above, but we are continuously refining the detection models for reliability and edge cases.
As Robocoin continues to evolve, we plan to expand this list to include more varieties and errors, enhancing its utility for numismatists and coin enthusiasts.
