Robocoin lubrication

Article [1004]

In some cases, applying a small amount of lubrication can improve the smooth movement of coins as they exit the hopper and travel through the track, particularly in the sorter area.

Lubrication is typically not required for larger, heavier coins (such as quarters), but it may be helpful—or occasionally necessary—for very light coins, especially dirty or worn pennies.

Only plastic-safe lubricants should be used. Lubricants designed for plastic mechanisms (for example, those commonly used for Rubik’s cubes) are recommended.
Please refer to the table below for guidance on which lubricants are safe for ABS plastic and which should be avoided.

Important guidelines

1. Do not spray lubricant directly onto the machine.

Apply a small amount to a cloth first, then gently wipe the indicated areas (see picture below). Direct spraying may cause damage or contamination

2. Avoid the camera tower area entirely.

Lubricant must never be applied near the camera towers. Any lubricant reaching the camera lenses is extremely difficult to remove and may permanently affect image quality

3. Use the minimum amount required.

Apply only a very thin layer and wipe thoroughly. Robocoin requires only a slight reduction in friction—excess lubricant can attract dirt and worsen performance.
